In the history of Intel products, Kaby Lake-G can definitely be counted as the most special generation of processors. It is packaged in MCM and integrates the 7th generation Core CPU and AMD Vega GPU on a single substrate. It is a rare combination of two major “rivals”.
However, the fate of Kaby Lake-G was not smooth. Intel announced its retirement just one year after it went on the market, and production was discontinued on July 31, 2020.
Fortunately, Intel has not completely forgotten it. After the successor will update to support Win11, the driver is now online and open for download, version 30.0.13025.1000.
There are 5 supported processor SKUs, namely i7-8705G, i7-8706G, i7-8709G, i7-8809G and i5-8305G.
Intel revealed that part of the RX Vega M graphics card driver is based on AMD Adrenalin 21.10.1, with a total capacity of 788MB, and is limited to 64-bit Win10/Win11 installation.
